Bhaisajyguru from Sanskrit is the buddha of medicine or also the buddha of the eastern realm of pure lapis lazuli. He who heals all diseases and lengthens life. The medicine buddha is enlightened and unbiased in his compassion for all living beings: he helps eradicating the 3 poisnons attachement, hatred and ignorance as the sources for all sickness and danger.
In his hand he holds a jar of medicine-nectar and has an aura of lapis lazuli-coloured light.
